Major Saturn Changes
The Heavens & Your Health

The big astrological news this month is the shift of Saturn from the sign of Scorpio to Sagittarius. While it was in Scorpio, Saturn tested our romantic and financial relationships and our ability to trust as well as to be trustworthy. Relationships built on trust became stronger and those who did not pass the test, fell by the wayside. A feeling of bonding with those we are closest to is the highest expression of this Saturn transit which began on October 6, 2012.
During this period, many of us encountered financial difficulty that seemed to be worse than the initial period of the economic downturn in 2008 and 2009. This is partly due to the fact that banks tightened their purse strings as much as individuals did, making it harder than ever to get a loan in 2013 and 2014.
Protection of “me and mine” did not allow for as much charitable giving either. Many of us notched our belts in late 2012 and will not ever go back to lax spending practices we became accustomed to in the 1990s. Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, Leo folks and those going through their first and second Saturn returns have been the most affected by this two year period of Saturnian cut-backs. “The buck stops here” is an expression that is appropriate for how many of us are likely to have felt.
There is no one to fall back upon in the end, except family and true-blue friends. Self-responsibility for one’s own livelihood and happiness was the lesson of this period. Kelly Clarkson’s song “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger” released in 2012, is the theme song for those most affected by this transit.
