Man can only become what he is
able to consciously imagine,
or to 'image forth'.

Dane Rudhyar

The essential purpose of astrology ...
is not so much to tell us what
we will meet on our road,
as it is to suggest how to meet it —
and the basic reason for the meeting.
Which quality in us,
which type of strength is needed
to go through any specific phase
of our total unfoldment
as an individual person.

Dane Rudhyar

Well for everyone to make a study
of astrology for, as indicated,
while many individuals have set
about to prove the astrological aspects
and astrological survey enable one
to determine future as well as the past
conditions, these are well to the point
where the individual understands that
these act upon individuals because of
their sojourn or correlation of their
associations with the environs through
which these are shown—see?
Rather than the star directing the life,
the life of the individual directs the
courses of the stars, see?....

Reading 311-10

Edgar Cayce

Astrology is one of the intuitive methods
like the I Ching, geomantics, and other
divinatory procedures. It is based
upon the synchronicity principle,
i.e. meaningful coincidence. ...
Astrology is a naively projected
psychology in which the different
attitudes and temperaments of man
are represented as gods and
identified with planets and
zodiacal constellations.

Carl Jung

Before one accepts spirituality,
astrology is very powerful,
like a lion.
Then when one enters into a
deeper spiritual life,
astrology becomes a tiny household cat.

Sri Chinmoy

We are born at a given moment,
in a given place and,
like vintage years of wine,
we have the qualities of the year
and of the season of which we are born.
Astrology does not lay claim
to anything more.

Carl Jung

Men should take their knowledge from
the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Astrology is one of the earliest
attempts made by man to find the
order hidden behind or within the
confusing and apparent chaos
that exists in the world.

Karen Hamaker-Zondag

Astrology is a language.
If you understand this language,
the sky speaks to you.

Dane Rudhyar

Astrology is a fact, in most instances.
But astrological aspects are but signs,
symbols. No influence is of greater value
or of greater help than the will of an
individual.... Do not attempt to be
guided by, but use the astrological
influences as the means to meet or to
overcome the faults and failures,
or to minimize the faults and
to magnify the virtues in self.

Edgar Cayce

All anyone can see in a birth chart
are tendencies that will become facts
if he does not do something to alter them.

Isabel Hickey.

A wise man shall overrule his stars,
and have a greater influence upon his
own content than all the constellations
and planets of the firmament.

Jeremy Taylor

A child is born on that day
and at that hour when the
celestial rays are in
mathematical harmony
with his individual karma.

Sri Yukteswar

A physician without a knowledge of
Astrology has no right to call
himself a physician.

The soul of the newly born baby
is marked for life by the pattern
of the stars at the moment it

Know that the philosopher has power

and not the stars over him.

recognising and accepting
our inner wounds

Major Saturn Changes

December 2014

The Heavens & Your Health

By Kari Noren-Hoshal

The big astrological news this month is the shift of Saturn from the sign of Scorpio to Sagittarius.  While it was in Scorpio, Saturn tested our romantic and financial relationships and our ability to trust as well as to be trustworthy.  Relationships built on trust became stronger and those who did not pass the test, fell by the wayside.  A feeling of bonding with those we are closest to is the highest expression of this Saturn transit which began on October 6, 2012.

During this period, many of us encountered financial difficulty that seemed to be worse than the initial period of the economic downturn in 2008 and 2009. This is partly due to the fact that banks tightened their purse strings as much as individuals did, making it harder than ever to get a loan in 2013 and 2014.

Protection of “me and mine” did not allow for as much charitable giving either. Many of us notched our belts in late 2012 and will not ever go back to lax spending practices we became accustomed to in the 1990s. Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, Leo folks and those going through their first and second Saturn returns have been the most affected by this two year period of Saturnian cut-backs. “The buck stops here” is an expression that is appropriate for how many of us are likely to have felt.

There is no one to fall back upon in the end, except family and true-blue friends. Self-responsibility for one’s own livelihood and happiness was the lesson of this period. Kelly Clarkson’s song “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger” released in 2012, is the theme song for those most affected by this transit.
